Introduction

I have been wanting to have a blog of my own for some time. Ever since my mom started one, I thought of how I could influence, or rather encourage young people of my own age. I want to serve the Lord with my whole heart.  In a way, this is serving Him. Through my writing I can spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and show other people how God is working in my life. The pen is mightier than the sword!
To start things off, I am an all time inexperienced writer. The talent I have (or think I have) is all from the Lord. I can't take any credit for it, at all! If I did, I would be lying to myself and to everyone else. :)
I am sort of random. When I want to be.
I have nine other siblings. All biological! I had somebody ask me that the other day when I told them that we had ten kids. Unfortunately I couldn't see their face. :) Anyway, back to what I was saying, yes I have nine other siblings and it's lots of fun. Let me tell you! I pity every only child that is out there. I know it's not their fault, or anyone else's, but I still pity them.
My parents have not always been saved. A lot of people we meet automatically assume that they have been....until we tell them otherwise. To read our family's testimony click here.
Our family has a singing ministry that started back in 2002. Well really it started in 2000, but I'll save that for another blog post.
I really can't think of anything else that you need to know that you won't find out unless you keep reading my blog. So on that note, I will say Ta-Ta for now!

  2. Wow, that was an incredible testimony. It just goes to show that sometimes the worst things that happen are actually for our benefit.

I really like your purpose for your blog. The impact of encouragement can not be overstated.
    Thanks for the post!

    1. Yes definitely! God has worked miracles in our family SO many times!

I love encouraging people, especially the ones who are downhearted.

    2. God is great!

Yes, I feel the same way. It's pretty shocking just how widespread depression is, especially in young writers. But I've seen God work miracles through just some simple words of encouragement.

    3. I had no idea that other young writers struggled with depression I thought I was one of the very few that got struck with the disease. Thanks for filling me in! I'll have to keep that in mind. So do you, as a more well seasoned writer, struggle with any of that?

    4. Well, I do the One Year Adventure Novel course(which is amazing, you must do it!) and it comes with a forum account. So everyone on this forum are young homeschooled Christian writers for the most part. So I'm apart of a pretty big community of writers, and it's helped me a lot, not to mention I made some of my first and best friends through it. But yeah, a lot of them struggle with depression. I try to help as best I can, but things some of them are going through, it's just tough. So yeah, you're not alone.

I'm sorry you struggle with that though. It's terrible.
I don't know if I would call myself "well seasoned" Lol! I do get down on myself and my writing sometimes. I'm working to get past that though. But as far as depression in life in general, no I don't really. But I think I'm the exception. The way God made me, it's hard for me to stay depressed very long, even if I want to. :P
      (sorry for the long comment)

    6. I am actually doing the OYAN. I didn't know that you could have a forum account like that. That's cool! I'll have to check that out.

I don't deal with depression in life in general either. I meant in my writing. I am like you, staying depressed is just not my thing. I have always been known as the 'Gigglebox'.
Oh, no worries about your comments being too long. It makes blogging all the more fun.

Thanks for the generous offer. :)

    7. Oh you are? That's cool! Yeah you should have gotten a registration number with your map. The forum is a pretty cool place. You can post your writing for people to critique, read other peoples writing, and just receive a lot of encouragement.

Oh, okay, that's good. :) Heehee, the 'Gigglebox' eh? It's good to laugh. People say I'm happy-go-lucky.
Okay, good, because I can talk...a lot. :P

      Don't mention it. :)

    8. When we got the curriculum I didn't have an email address and I didn't really have any knowledge of what the Internet really was. But I just got verified by an OYAN administrator.

Yes, I agree that it is good to laugh! I love laughing. A friend of mine once told me that the more you laugh the longer you live. He was making me laugh when he said it.
I can tell that you are a happy-go-lucky guy!
      Haha, that's hysterical!

    9. Yeah, I didn't have a whole lot of internet knowledge when I joined either. I'm still learning a lot.
Oh you did? Is your user name Haleyrose? If so, I commented on your page. :)

Yes, that's very true. The happier you are, the less you stress, the more you laugh, the longer you'll live. That's very true!
Yeah, you can probably tell that from my blogger name. Haha!

    10. Yes, that's my user name. Is it like customary to welcome and just comment on anyone who is on there? Cause I'm kinda like not used to that. But I like it that way! :)

Yeah, I about died laughing when I read your OYAN profile....

    11. Yeah, whenever someone knew joins, a ton of people usually swamp them with welcome messages. Haha!

Yup, I try to keep up my "Madcow" persona on OYAN. It's pretty funny sometimes.
